Level 3: Advanced ©SAFE Interviewing

Course Overview:
The L3 Advanced ©SAFE Interviewing is an advanced, in-depth training programme designed for professionals who are responsible for the more in-depth conversations or interviews with students who may have experienced some form of harm, or those who may have harmed others. Although the techniques learnt are specifically designed to meet the needs of children, they are also applicable if you were interviewing an adult. This accreditation combines theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on experience to ensure participants can confidently apply the ©SAFE Interviewing methodology in their safeguarding practice.
This programme includes completion of the L2 Essential ©SAFE Interviewing course prior to two full days of in-person training, where participants will develop and refine their interviewing skills through practice sessions and case study analysis. Participants will also engage in an online group supervision session 3–4 months after the live training, allowing for reflection, skill reinforcement, and tailored feedback. Completion of a practice journal is required to ensure consistent application of learning.
To maintain accreditation, participants can extend their status to 24 months by attending an additional group supervision session at the 12-month mark (no practice journal required for the extension).
